In line with the digital management requirements prescribed in the notice, the SEMB has developed a guide to provide technical support for enterprises to establish a Hazchem storage information management system based on the Hazchem traceability codes application.

By December 31, 2024, Hazchem enterprises within Shanghai should complete the generation and affixing of Hazchem traceability codes.

On August 31, 2022, the Department of Emergency Management of Shandong, China issued the official document to outline the measures and targets for the Hazchem QR code application in Shandong province. The Guangdong province has led the country in implementing the new Hazchem registration online system from July 12, 2021. The scope of substances subject to hazardous chemical registration and the application process remain the same, while the new version of system requires more data, e.g., more detailed information of enterprises and personnel, to facilitate the big data analytics nationalwide.
